A seat at the Table by AHEC and Riva 1920

AHEC and renowned Italian furniture makers Riva 1920 have teamed up to create the first edition of the Design Award "A seat at the Table", which aims to discover emerging design talent from Italy and give a selection of four designers a voice and a platform to exhibit their work and ideas, along with the opportunity to see a prototype of their project produced.

The project awards four table designs in solid wood, using one of a choice of three sustainable American hardwood species: American red oak, cherry and maple. These species make up 40% of the naturally regenerating American hardwood resource, and despite having amazing performance, aesthetic, and environmental qualities, are currently being underused in Europe.
