Mosaic Forest Management has signed agreements with five all-terrain-vehicle (ATV) clubs on Vancouver Island for recreational access to areas of its private managed forest lands. The agreements allow authorized, trained, and insured ATV club members weekend access to designated roads and trails on Mosaic’s private managed forest lands.
The access agreements are the result of a series of successful pilot projects over the past years aimed at expanding recreational ATV access on Mosaic’s private forest lands. Mosaic has signed agreements with the Alberni Valley Hillclimbers Club, Sooke ATV Club, Mid-Island ATV Club, Comox Valley ATV Club and Cowichan ATV Club.
“We are pleased to welcome these responsible ATV clubs to safely enjoy areas of Mosaic’s working forest,” said Jeff Zweig, president and CEO of Mosaic. “This is another example of how we can partner to increase the recreational benefits of private land to adjacent communities, while working together to protect the forest and sensitive ecosystems.”
Through the access agreements, the partner ATV clubs ensure authorized members meet the safety and environmental standards that are requirements of the recreational ATV access opportunity with Mosaic.
