CHICAGO  Looking for fresh ideas in sandwiches but at a loss for inspiration?
Consider what Subway did recently when it unveiled 12 new chef-created sandwiches called The Subway Series, which is divided into four groups: Cheesesteaks, Chicken, Clubs and Italianos.
Subway created the sandwiches from ingredients already in its pantry, including rotisserie chicken, better artisan breads and premium Italian deli meats.
The Supreme Meats, for example, layers authentic Italian cold cuts, including capicola, Genoa salami and pepperoni with Black Forest Ham, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and banana peppers. Its topped with parmesan vinaigrette, according to a report from CSP sister Restaurant Business.
