In June, Brazilian exports of plywood to the European Union jumped 93% year-on-year to 76 thousand m3. The value of exports soared 81% to $33 million. Average price of Brazilia’s plywood in the EU decreased 6% to $429 per m3.

Brazil replaces plywood supplies to Europe from Russia, which is under the EU sanctions. In April, plywood exports from Russia to the EU fell by 40% compared to the same period last year, and supplies will completely stop from July 10.

Brazil decreased exports of plywood to the U.S. by 27% year-on-year to 113 thousand m3 in June. Supplies to Germany increased by 80% to 17 thousand m3, supplies to Italy increased by 41% to 16 thousand m3.

Brazil’s exports of plywood amounted to 247 thousand m3 in June 2022, the value of exports totaled $107 million and the average price of plywood was set at $434 per m3.
